Seymour Pink Food Drive

Growing up, I think many of us would’ve been considered poor, but we didn’t know it.
Your neighbors were the social services “back then”.
If you were in need, your neighbors were there for you.
I am close to 74 years old and yet I remember as a four or five year old, people knocking on our back door bringing us bags of groceries.
When they left I asked, “Mommy who were those people?”
She said, “They are angels, Mary”.
I never forgot that and obviously had a huge impact on me and my family.
We were in tough times…poor. … experiencing what they would call food insufficiency or food insecurity, today.
There are still angels among us!
On August 31, Seymour Pink will sponsor a food drive at Stop & Shop in Seymour, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
All food and donations collected that day will go to The Little Free Pantry on Skokorat Street…. The Angels that are among us today.
The work that The Little Free Pantry does, the food they provide, reminds me of “the Angels” that came to our back door 70 years ago.
Please help us help fill The Little Free Pantry with food for those who are struggling to provide food or enough nutritious food …for those who find themselves in hard times.
