On September 7th, board members from Seymour Pink presented leaders at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital with additional funding for the Bella Blanket program.
Seymour Pink presented funds, the third time this year, dedicated solely towards the purchase of Bella Blankets for the comfort of patients receiving their mammograms.
Bella Blankets® protective coverlets for mammography can help capture more breast tissue. Cancers that occur at the chest wall may not be visualized if breast tissue is missing from the image. Every millimeter counts™ when looking for clusters of micro-calcifications.
Seymour Pink heard about the Bella Blankets being used at Griffin Hospital during breast screenings and the comfort and benefit they provide to patients. The blankets were described as providing invaluable comfort and making an uncomfortable but necessary procedure much more comfortable. For us at Seymour Pink, it was a perfect fit with our mission.
Bella Blankets allow the patient to relax and have a better level of comfort, both physically and mentally during their mammograms, acting as a barrier against the cold and hard machine, while also allowing the best images possible to be captured. It’s a win win for patients and medical providers alike.
About Bella Blankets
Bella Blankets protective coverlets act as a barrier between the patient’s skin and the receptor plate to help prevent breast from sticking or tearing as the patient steps out of compression.
Less skin tears, less patients avoiding annual mammograms, better for overall breast health.
