The 2021 Banner Renewal process begins soon! “Seymour Pink Day” was an idea born from loved ones left behind…family and friends of those who lost their battle with breast cancer. The idea to have our entire community SEE MORE PINK came from the unique advantage that our town’s name is Seymour. Banners hung in town during the month of October honor and remember our loved ones who have fought the FIGHT of breast cancer. If you have an existing banner to honor or remember a loved one who has battled breast cancer, please ensure you submit the Renewal Form & Payment by June 30th. Reminder: Placement of banners is RANDOM! Download the Banner Renewal Form New banners will go for sale July 1st on a first come, first serve basis. Stay tuned if you’re interested in potentially purchasing a banner in town....

Welcome Lisa Roshkind & Dawn Scott to the Board! We are excited to welcome two new members to our all volunteer Board of Directors. We asked each of these women to share a little bit about their path to Seymour Pink so the community can get to know them. We are grateful for them stepping up to serve. Join us in giving them a warm welcome! Lisa Roshkind One can say I kinda “ran” into Seymour Pink. Back in 2017 when Seymour Pink announced that they would be a charity partner with the Marine Corps Marathon I had decided to be a supporter, until Debbie Russel (a breast cancer survivor) said she was running it. Well, I couldn’t let her do it alone so I signed up to run the marathon. Needless to say, it was a life changing experience. Since then I have supported, volunteered, acted as Chair for the Putt for the Cure event, all in an effort to share Seymour Pink’s mission. Now, I am excited to be joining the Board. I am truly honored to be a member of such an amazing organization. Dawn Scott Dawn Scott was introduced to Seymour Pink by a few fundraisers her kids participated in while they were in the Seymour School System. She was introduced to Mary Deming at the Seymour Pink Gift Shop Grand Opening in 2015. After speaking with Mary, she was impressed with Seymour Pink’s mission and the sense of community felt by everyone that is involved. Ever since then, she has been a weekly volunteer at the Gift Shop and volunteers with other Seymour...

Design the Pink Challenge Medal We’re hosting a contest to design this year’s PINK CHALLENGE medal for the annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink races! Put your creativity to the test and design the medal that will celebrate all runners who take on the Pink Challenge – 5k & 10k – over race weekend. Our race committee is planning our event for October, though there is uncertainty on in-person events, but we know that no matter what, the 10th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink will happen – virtually or in hybrid form. That’s why we’re asking YOU to enter this year’s medal design contest for the Pink Challenge. Participants in the Pink Challenge will walk or run a 5k (3.1 Miles) and 10k (6.2 Miles) for a total of 9.3 miles during our October weekend. For the Pink Challenge, the 10k portion will be done virtually. IF we are able to host a hybrid event with some in person racing, the 5k may be done in person or virtually. Either way, an extraordinary feat all to support Seymour Pink & Seymour Tradition. Contest Details View the criteria and entry form here: Pink Challenge Medal Design Contest 2021 Vector Artwork Download the Vector Art Logo here. Guidance on using this vector artwork for your design: The “5k” can change of course since this has 5k and 10k for this distance – we don’t have a formal pink challenge logo. We’d like to have the little upside down ribbon people still in the logo as signature to Seymour Pink. As long as the ‘A Seymour Tradition’ remains with the softball for...

Hello from Seymour Pink! A year ago on Friday, March 12, 2020 we made a most difficult decision. We postponed Our annual “A Pink Night to Remember” scheduled for the next day on Friday, March 13, at The Waterview in Monroe, CT. Never did we imagine it would be the first of almost all of our annual fundraising events to be modified, postponed or cancelled in 2020! When it became apparent that the 2 to 3 week period of “flattening the curve” would extend to two or three months and then an entire year and then some, we obviously had serious concerns on how we would continue to fulfill our mission to lessen the financial burdens of those men and women currently battling the horrific effects of their breast cancer treatment. Every nonprofit organization has, at its core foundation, the desire to have an impact in the community it serves, no matter their specific mission. Realizing we would have to cancel a significant number of our major fundraising events for 2020 and fearing how we would continue to help those affected by their breast cancer diagnosis, we were humbled by a surge of support both financially and emotionally from our extraordinary community. The number of new donors and the creativity of all our donors, individuals as well as businesses/organizations, have allowed us to continue to fulfill our mission and to impact the fight against breast cancer. It has been overwhelming! You have helped us continue to impact our community and fulfill our mission during the most difficult, most uncertain times! THANK YOU! As we head towards spring, we do...
