It is with a shattered heart that I share that on Saturday, December 23, 2023 our dearest friend and Vice President of Seymour Pink, Colleen Fries, passed away. Her 9 year battle, with the war multiple myeloma waged on her body, is over. A giver, a fighter, a steward of justice, an individual who was always there for those in need, those less fortunate, those who had been dealt a difficult hand in their life. A private person who appreciated and respected other’s privacy but would do anything for family and friends… if someone needed legal guidance, a helping hand, Colleen quietly offered her help, no strings attached. As Vice President of Seymour Pink and chairperson of “A Pink Night to Remember”, her legal and event planning expertise were the reasons why Seymour Pink experienced such incredible growth over the last several years…never wanting the recognition she so deserved, but wanting to be there to smooth out any wrinkles that might occur. She always stepped back at, or after one of our fundraising events and would say, “Build it and they will come”….Colleen you have helped to build Seymour Pink into a non profit organization that everyone comes too! To say our hearts are shattered into a thousand pieces doesn’t begin to express our pain, butColleen our comfort comes from knowing the Lord has wrapped you in His eternal peace! Sleep well my friend…the fight is over. Your pain is gone!! We will continue Seymour Pink’s fight against breast cancer, despite our devastating loss of your passing Colleen, because we know you will be with us EVERY step we...

Seymour Pink, Inc. is once again happy to partner with and support The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital for 2023. The Seymour Pink Board voted to support two programs for 2023 which are outlined below. MRI Biopsies and Grids Griffin offers two different kinds of breast biopsies: Stereotactic biopsies, which are performed for calcifications and any mass that is better visualized under mammography; and MRI biopsies, which are performed when an abnormality is detected that can be better seen on MRI imaging. When performing an MRI biopsy, grids are used to identify the target area to biopsy. Griffin had been using disposable MRI grids, but unfortunately they are no longer available for purchase because the company decided to switch to reusable grids. The grids are several thousand each however they are reusable for the 12 patients a year (on average) that require this type of biopsy. This not only keeps business within the local community but more importantly allows a continuum of care for the patient during a troubling time. Bella Blankets Bella Blankets are used to provide not only a level of comfort for the patient undergoing a mammogram but also better imaging and a more sanitary experience. Bella Blankets are a unique one-time use shield that allows better placement of the breast during the mammogram. Seymour Pink has supported the Bella Blanket program previously, read more about this health technology here. From Griffin: “Your tremendous generosity in 2022 allowed us to purchase a one-year supply of Bella Blankets! Thank you so very much for making a difference! As you know, they provide extra comfort...
